Accrington Stanley Care Home Ticket

Life-time season ticket for care homes in Hyndburn

Football fan Ken Webb (pictured on left) donated £1,000 to Accrington Stanley for a life-time season ticket for an over 70 – and the ticket will go to Hyndburn old people’s homes.

Ex-army man Ken is an Ayr United fan who now lives in London but has a soft spot for Stanley.

He came to his first Stanley home game in the 4-1 win over Crawley but has watched the Reds at various away venues in the south of England.

He gave £1,000 to the club as part of a scheme launched earlier in the season where people could gift money for a lifetime season ticket for an over 70.

And the money will be used to buy a ticket so an elderly person, with a carer, at Townfield and Coach House Care in Hyndburn along with other care homes in the area can pop along to the Wham Stadium for a League Two clash.

“It’s a great gesture,” said Stanley fan John Timmins, who is part-owner of Townfield. “It means we will have a ticket for an over 70 at any care home in Hyndburn to come and watch a game and cheer Stanley on to, hopefully, promotion.”

Scotsman Ken said: “I just wanted to do my bit. I love football and Accrington Stanley is one of those clubs you fall in love with. You can have a beer before the game, chat to fans and it’s a friendly atmosphere. The team is doing well as well which is a bonus but I am only too happy to help.”

If any care home wants to make use of the Stanley ticket contact John Timmins at 01254 884058 or email care@townfieldhouse.co.uk

Dear Kath,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, for your continued support, in offering a work experience placement for Accrington Academy Sixth Form Students over the last year.
The Placements have been of great benefit to our students, and they have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I hope we can secure a place with you and continue to work together in the 2015/2016 terms.
Once again thank you very much for your support
