Celebrating Chinese New Year in Style

Celebrating Chinese New Year in Style

Residents and staff at Townfield & Coach House enjoyed a special Chinese New Year Theme Day to celebrate the year of the monkey by discussing which “animal” they were under the Chinese calendar, and trying their luck at the chop stick challenge.

Mathew Deary the chef at the care home prepared a themed Chinese meal with spring rolls and chicken skewers to start, for the main course a choice between Chicken Sweet and Sour or Beef in black bean sauce with rice served with stir fried vegetables and then pineapple or banana fritters served with ice cream.

Chinese New Year

Maria Payne, Activities co-ordinator at Townfield & Coach House said ” Its fantastic to be able to celebrate the events throughout the year. We always try to put decorations up throughout the home and theme our activities around that event. It really is a busy time of year with Burns night just gone and now Chinese new Year and tomorrow we will be making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday and then into our Easter celebrations.”

5starstarstarstarstar Fantastic place. Would recommend to anyone needing a dedicated and caring home for a family member or friend. The staff are brilliant, truly dedicated to providing exceptional care. My grandma was here for 7mths and I couldn’t have wished for a better place for her. Those 7mths she kept everyone entertained and everyday was a laugh a minute. Sadly we lost grandma in October but I am so glad her last months where with everyone at Townfield and coach house. Thank you for all your care and support you are super stars all of u xxx
